Active Killer Interdiction- Instructor was designed to assist officers and agencies with creating or maintaining a robust Active Killer program. This course will focus on enhancing core capabilities and maximizing training resources to achieve agency goals as it relates to an Active Killer incident. This course will cover identifying core capabilities, structuring initial and in-service training, and maximizing common skills.
The course is an intensive and comprehensive 5-day instructor development program. The program focuses on laying a foundation for a proactive solo officer response to an Active Killer incident. The response subsequently scales up as more resources become available. The tactics, techniques, and procedures shown are based on tried-and-true law enforcement approaches to minimize risk and maximize effectiveness.
Student Instructors will be taught the principles and concepts of interior and exterior movements, patrol level breaching, the balancing of speed and accuracy, shot accountability, communication, link ups, and transitioning to medical interventions from triage to evacuations.
Student Instructors will be required to pass a written examination, individual performance evaluations, and an evaluated Student Instructor led drill. Upon successful completion of the 40-hour course, Student Instructors will receive the course materials and certification from Centrifuge Training, LLC.
Individual Equipment List:
- IFAK with tourniquet
- Full Personal Protective Equipment for NLTA (Head, Eye, Throat, Torso, Hand, and Groin)
- Individual eye and ear protection for range and breaching
- Gloves for breaching
- Long sleeve shirt for breaching
- Duty Carbine, sling, weapon mounted light, and 3 magazines (if issued)
- Duty Pistol with 3 magazines
- 250 Carbine and 250 pistol live ammunition
- Duty belt and equipment
- Duty Ballistic carrier
- Handheld light with extra batteries
- NLTA conversion for Carbine and pistol
- 350 carbine and 150 pistol NLTA ammunition (500 if using a single platform)
- Carbine and pistol cleaning kit (Including a cleaning rod for stuck NLTA)
- Appropriate clothing for the environment and weather (Faux blood will be used)
Course Prerequisites:
- Current LE / mil / gov credentials.
- Recognized basic instructor cert (i.e. POST, TCOLE, NRA LE, etc) is mandatory.
- FTO (Field training officer) or Academy cadre status can be used in lieu of an Instructor cert.
- Able to demonstrate and employ safe weapons handling during courses of fire.
