Kirk has dedicated over 36 years to public service, exemplifying commitment and leadership in both military and law enforcement roles. His first eight years were spent on active duty in the U.S. Army, including five years with the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, and three years with the 5th Ranger Training Battalion. During these assignments, he served as an Assaulter, Sniper, and Instructor.

For the subsequent 28 years, Kirk served in domestic law enforcement, beginning as a Patrol Officer, Canine Handler, and SWAT team member. Promoted to Sergeant, he supervised operations in Patrol, SWAT, and Canine units. He later advanced to Lieutenant and currently serves as a Watch Commander in Patrol.

Throughout his career, Kirk has excelled in specialized training roles, including Military Mountaineering and Mountain Operations, Field Training Officer, Canine Trainer, and Police Firearms and Police Tactics. His extensive experience and diverse skill set reflect a lifelong commitment to professional excellence and public safety.
