Dan Smith

Dan has been a police officer for an agency in the pacific northwest for over 15 years. He has held assignments as a patrol officer, patrol supervisor, department training coordinator, as well as K9 Handler for patrol and SWAT. In addition to K9, he was a SWAT Officer for 14 years, holding positions as a breacher, entry team member, assistant team leader, and team leader. He is a certified Force Science analyst as well as a CJTC certified firearms instructor in handgun, shotgun, and patrol rifle. He has served as the lead firearms instructor for his SWAT team and currently oversees the firearms program for his agency. As the lead instructor for his agency, he developed the training for, and approval of RDS equipped pistols for duty use. Dan served for six years in the Marine Corps, with a deployment to Iraq in 2005. He also holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Washington State University.
